Lent 2026

Join us for 40 days of fasting + prayer.

What is Lent?

Lent is the forty-day season leading up to Easter (not including Sundays), a time when followers of Jesus turn away from certain comforts to make space for Christ and to reclaim their first love.

These forty days reflect Gospel of Matthew 4:1–11, where Jesus Christ fasts in the wilderness. From the earliest centuries of the Church, Lent has been a season of prayer, fasting, and repentance.

Ash Wednesday begins Lent with the sign of ashes in the shape of a cross, a reminder of our mortality and our need for a Savior.

Yet Lent is not the end of the story. It leads us to Easter, where we celebrate how Jesus has triumphed over death. The hope of the resurrection is that we are being made new and that all is being made new by the power of Jesus.

How can I participate?

Beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter (with exception of Sundays), followers of Jesus practice renouncing lesser loves for the 40 days of Lent in order to reclaim what God has for us.
